From this point on, I'll start showing setups before the start of the battle; I'll also mention key pieces of equipment as well.

First boss in the World of Ruin, and already we face several problems. We still have no access to reflect for one thing, and two, we can only protect Violet from Seize because she's the only one here that can use the Haste Ring (well, actually Red can as well, but we can't equip him before the fight, so...yeah). Any of the tentacles' physical attacks can two-shot anyone, Bio is an instant kill, and to top it all off, the bottom left tentacle can freeze characters with Cold Dust. Our best chance to win is to have Red slow the two tentacles closest to him, have Rienna use Milon summon to set clear status to negate some of the early attacks, then have Violet use Bones summon to poison all but the top left tentacle.

After that is done, we play a waiting game. We must do everything possible to keep Violet alive and healthy, because if she dies, and Rienna and Red are slowed, or worse, grabbed or already down, then it's all over. We also need to try to keep everyone else up to give Violet less of a chance to get attacked, all while waiting for three of them to die from poison. This is the hardest part of the battle, because we have no reflect, and only one person protected from Seize.

Once the three poisoned tentacles are down, we can go on the offense using Violet's Fire Bolt, and tier 2 spells from Red and Rienna. This last tentacle has just 4,000 HP, so it doesn't take too long to kill it overall. The only thing it can do that's threatening is a MT Bio on both Violet and Rienna; his other attacks are all single target, so staying alive is much easier at this point.
