FFX -- OSGKO -- S&A\n\nOwn Sphere Grid, Kimahri Only\n\n\nStats: HP 1844, Str 43, Agi 13, Luck 22\n\nEquipment: Kain's Lance (Piercing, SOS-Overdrive, Str +3%), Star Armlet (SOS-NulFrost, SOS-NulBlaze, SOS-NulShock), NulTide Armlet\n\n\nI started this challenge about two years ago and got stuck on this battle. It needs a lot of luck even with the best strategy plus you have to watch a pretty long cut-scene beforehand each time so I gave up on it. A little while ago I started trying it again and finally managed to win.\n\nIt's an incredibly annoying battle because it really is all luck, plus to have much of a chance of winning you have to bend the Single Character Challenge 'rules' and not only use meatshields but also the Avenger OD mode. To win you need:\n\n1) Pain to hit other characters\n2) the second attack against Anima to go critical (the one when Anima is in Boost)\n3) some luck with the random number generator on top of that (even when everything else goes perfectly there's still almost a 50% chance of the total damage coming up just short)\n\nBefore each attempt you also have to get into a random encounter outside the Temple and get Kimahri to SOS-HP to activate SOS-Overdrive and SOS-Nuls.\n\nIt's also possible to win the battle by having Kimahri surviving the Death effect from Pain (there's only a 1% chance of this since it's impossible to get any kind of Death Ward etc. by this stage). It's not worth planning a strategy around though.
