Even though in the end it was very luck-reliant I'm still more pleased with this than any other boss fight so far since there was a lot of strategy and decision-making in there as well.\n\nI got a lot of new equipment, mainly through killing fiends over and over in the arena. I also played a Blitzball league for a Luck Sphere so I could use the Fortune Sphere you get from one of the Gagazet trials and boost Rikku's Luck stat.\n\nSanctie's attack pattern is:\n\nPhoton Wings\nAttack\nAttack\nMana Breath\nCuraga or Regen (if low on HP)\nCuraga or Regen\n\nIt also sometimes counters with Tail Sweep, which is especially annoying because it's usually impossible to predict and causes both damage and Delay. It's used after Sanctie is attacked 3-6 times, but it's skipped if the triggering attack is a counterattack. I use counterattacks as much as possible to maximise damage output so fortunately it didn't actually do Tail Sweep that many times.\n\nThe problem is not so much surviving as dealing enough damage to overcome the Curagas which heal nearly 20k HP each attack cycle. When I first tried this fight I played it safe but I soon realised I just couldn't win that way. So sometimes I had to just pray Tail Sweep wouldn't be used (or would miss) and get an extra attack in even though Rikku was on low HP.\n\nThere are many things that are variable in the battle (whether Photon Wings inflicts Darkness, whether Sancties attacks miss, whether Tail Sweep misses) so I had to think on the fly most of the time. The basic idea was to only heal with Firestrike and Fire Eater once per attack cycle (since it takes a lot of time), have the right equipment on to survive and counter all of its attacks and get as many extra attacks in as possible.\n\nI didn't bother attacking in the first cycle because I wanted to use Luck five times and there wasn't enough time to deal anywhere near enough damage to overcome the first pair of Curagas as well.\n\nAt around 6:16 there's a slight skip because I was sticking two bits of recording together (for some reason the recording doesn't work if I do too much at once). In the second vid there's similarly a skip at about 2:06.
