The only option is to use element eater armour with the corresponding element strike weapon. The weapons I already have, but Chimerageist is the only source of the armour at this stage in the game.\n\nDespite having 120,000 HP Chimerageist wasn't actually hard to beat with the right equipment. Its attack pattern is Aqua Breath, Megiddo Flame, Black Magic (either Blizzara or Thundara), physical attack (then repeat), although it can start anywhere in the sequence.\n\nThe attacks can be prevented or survived by doing the following:\n\nAqua Breath - equip Moon Targe\nMegiddo Flame - equip Moon Targe, can also be countered with Magic Counter\nBlack Magic - equip Reflect Targe\nPhysical attack - equip Protect Targe and Defend, can be countered with Counterattack\n\nOnly the physical attack deals damage and with both Protect and Defend it's less than 2000, meaning that SOS-Regen can be used to heal Rikku enough to survive the next time it comes around.\n\nYou can win just by countering Megiddo Flame and the physical attack, but to speed the battle up I also attacked on Rikku's turns whenever I could; unlike Defender X, Chimerageist doesn't have any kind of counterattacks itself.
