FFXIV Endwalker - Part 79: Learning to Fly [Unspoiled]
The nature of the soul. Emet-Selch, teacher extraordinaire. Hermes' passion for life.
"The creatures are already here. We will spare no effort in giving them a chance to survive."
-Hermes

-Lots of discussion in this session about the nature of the soul and what counts as a living versus arcane being. The biggest stumbling block here for me: what is the "law of creation," and what's something whose form DOESN'T adhere to that law?
-It may turn out to be wrong, but I feel at least 40% confident in my theory that the aetherically depleted monsters and blasphemies are running purely on akasa.
-I never actually did the Dynamis zones in FFXI, but my understanding is that they are a dream realm geared towards relic grinding:

-Hermes wants to "create a being that could traverse the great expanse." This has stuck with me. I don't know what it means, but it sounds like what Omega and Midgardsormr did. (I'm assuming the "great expanse" is the space between stars.)
-Keeps hitting me how young Emet-Selch sounds here. His voice is the same, but his personality and focus are so much different, so much less set.
