The opening scene and character creation.
Be careful when choosing your character class. The four characters you choose will be the characters you use throughout the entire game. You will not be able to change you class after you start. Choose carefully!
I'm used to the strategies from the original NES version of the game, so I will be playing through the game based off of that. So some of my original strategies might not work as well in this version. Still, I will try and make do.
Some spells were bugged to the point of being useless in the NES version, so I will probably not be using them in this version because I don't know if they were fixed, and I don't have any strategies that include them.
This is a game that involves a lot of level-grinding, so I will be doing that off-screen between parts. You don't necessarily *have* to do this, but it will make it much easier for my recording if I do.
Choosing Your Setup:
Pick your character classes based off of what you would feel most comfortable playing through the game with. Have you played other Final Fantasies before? Maybe try choosing your team based on what you most frequently use in those. You can have a team comprised of entirely the same class (like a team of only Red Mages), but I wouldn't recommended it. Try to have a setup with at least one magic user, and at least one physical fighter.
Also, do NOT base your party on what your characters can become (ex. a Warrior can turn into a Knight, which can use some white magic). This happens really late in the game, and usually their stats aren't high enough for the addition of things like magic to really be worth it.
Warrior: A physical fighter. Has the option of equipping strong weapons and armor.
Monk: A physical fighter. He has the strongest base attack, but has limited options for weapons and armor.
Thief. A physical fighter. He has high speed, but every other stat is fairly poor. He also has limited options for weapons and armor. The "thief" class in this game CANNOT steal, so I don't see why anybody would really bother using it unless they wanted to intentionally make the game more challenging.
Red Mage: A physical and magical fighter. He doesn't really accel in any stat, but can *sometimes* equip good weapons and armor. He can also learn both white and black magic, but not all of it. His casting also won't be as powerful as either a Black or White Mage.
Black Mage: A magical fighter. This class' main purpose is to cast offensive spells known as "Black Magic", which can deal elemental damage and exploit enemy weaknesses.
White Mage: A magical 'fighter'. This class' main purpose is to cast supporting spells known as "White Magic". This character is usually meant to buffer and heal the team. The White Mage has almost no offensive capabilities, magical or physical, except towards undead enemies.
