Zidane has found a secret cave under the windmill. Both Dagger and Zidane processed further into it, but they had to stop suddenly since they saw two man abusing a person. When they further inspected this scene from behind they noticed that this person was no other than Vivi. It seemed that he was kidnapped (everyone gets kidnapped in this game) by two men. Zidane wanted to stop these men, but he was immediately dragged back by Garnet. She said that the the barrels had the same embelm pattern as the barrels in Alexandria. Furthermore it had to do something with Alexandria respectively. When they went back to this scene, the two men and Vivi weren't there anymore and so they went further into the cave.

Finally, they entered a room where many barrels and a engine, which produced something, were standing. Again, no sign of Vivi, but suddenly a voice was heard from a barrel. Zidane immediately opened it and for their surprise, they found Vivi in this barrel. Nobody knew why they kidnaped him and put him in there, so the only way to find a solution was to further inspect the cave. As said they observed a engine, which produced something like a egg. Another machine was absorbing mist which came from outside. Having no clue yet, they went further. This time they made terribly find. A machine transformed the eggs into Black Mages, the same race Vivi was of. Vivi couldn't believe his eyes, Garnet had to suspect her mother since everywhere in the cave were emblems of Alexandria. Not a second past when Zidane heard voices of persons. Both Garnet and Vivi were still shocked about this incident and so he to grab them to hide somewhere not to be found by these persons. Too bad for him that he hid in a inappropriate place. They could not hide long enough because a barrel fall over their heads and captured them inside.

Steiner was looking for a way to find back to Alexandria. Fortunately, a cargo ship was flying into Dali a few times a day. He went to the place, where these ships were boarding and he found a old man who told him that the ship was already there. He went for the ship, but he also found a barrel nearby it. He heard voices inside the barrel. He find no other methods to open this barrel and so he stabbed it with his sword. Suddenly, a person popped up and it was no other than Zidane screaming because he was almost stabbed. The reunion didn't last long. When they discussed what did happen to Zidane, Vivi and Dagger a curious creatures popped out of nowhere. Zidane sensed it. It was a similar guy like the one in the Ice Caverns. Furthermore, the creature had a similar appearance like a Black Mage. Like his predecessor, it wanted to kill everyone, but Dagger. It seemed that he was hired by the Queen Brahne who wanted the princess back to the castle. Of course, Zidane and Co. defended her with all possibilities and so they defeated this monster. Everyone couldn't believe what just happened in this period of time, but there wasn't any time to think about it. The Cargo ship was leaving and so they boarded it as quickly as possible.
