Final Fantasy Tactics Zeirchele Falls Ft Divine Ruination RNG Delita
I am so impressed this RNG made the battle go differently, from Delita going to the left and using divine ruination (I never got this before and this is what I meant about Agrias at Balias swale being useless if she doesn’t get this nor hallowed bolt for the range/height) to Ovelia curing my confusion. Happy little accident from affording holy in chapter 1 (get to level 12 with a white or black mage and you can afford it’s 56 MP after getting 600 JP (Halve MP is garbage and the summoner is just there to change jobs for area of effect friendly fire free damage with Ramza’s faster squire that almost has the same magick atk, until it gets power crept).
Chakra (guaranteed hp and mp gain with no height for a group) and empowerment (you need 2 mp) can help refill as well as of course ethers (job changing and errands chapter 2 should lead to a variety of skills or new job unlocks. I also noticed that arcane strength could work with doom fist though it won’t work on Gaffgarion (reflect is also nearly impossible to get to work outside equipment and fighting black mages).
Ovelia’s wizard robe and hat at the end should afford usage of any spell after this battle. I also showed her guest dialogue as well as Ramza Lugria taking on his mom’s maiden name (courtesan reference end of the chapter).
New playthroughs should encourage different challenges at multiple save points each chapter (going from beginning only for bravery/faith of new recruits or a starting challenge). A shame the Delita battles after this are way easier, though his credit stealing/manipulation to be King is interesting despite the sad ending with Ovelia. Having Ramza as a squire or chemist helps special jobs, and archer/monk (steel bravery) sets up ninja and samurai unlocks.
I did use a teleport dragoon (could go to equip shield thief if I don’t wanna do polearms damage), rend monk (attack boost increases likelihood of weapon and their innate attack helps equip crossbows before that) with steel bravery to around 80, and holy white mage with a couple mystic moves while Ramza will have doom fist and mettle (maybe use a chemist if not squire for JP spillover for auto potion or JP boost/move +1).
I did learn the white mage, thief and monk are faster classes besides obviously the ninja, so check that speed stat when changing to those jobs, or the reductions with summoner and obviously arithmetician (which wins with quick or a job change). If an archer has JP to spare, archer's Bane isn't too bad for story battles with archers, though of course there are better reaction abilities.
Fun fact: Guests give you back their items when leaving the party, and Gaffgarion is much easier if you remove his equipment before going here (almost cruel given you get his stuff back anyway). True to life funny advice is to keep a woman if stripping her like this game rewards you (Alma in ch 3 has a barette and red shoes). Ramza also goes back to being a Beoulve (though still against Dycedarg while trying to persuade Zalbaag) ch 3. You also get access to samurai equipment backtracking to dorter after speaking to the cardinal in Lionel.
