Final Fantasy V Pixel Remaster Boost - Sic Dhorme Chimera on Ifrit Fail, Summon vs Byblos Win
How the hell is Ifrit weak against blizzard but not water? Too funny not to show (I did shorten Ifrit battle for 3 mins shorts), let alone scared Byblos and saying hi to master Ifrit if you summon him.
Boost helps formulate new strategies like mystic knight ninja (spellblade works on their knives or knight/two handed swords yet not katanas for a samurai) and berserk monk (they can counter unlike giving thief’s speed to berserker, let alone attack twice with more accuracy than that crappy axe) before the endgame rapidfire dual wielding spellblade shenanigans.
My geomancer had to play defense (not that strong but gaia is free magic and terrain safety helps for those dungeons that need it) and surprisingly, Dhorme did not cast aqua breath until a later battle.
Catch is kinda like pokemon though you permanently release after 1 use, to be a poor man's summoner unless you got a guide for shenanigans like mix or drink with a chemist, or spellblade. Fandom page has good notes: https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Mystic_Knight_(Final_Fantasy_V)
Silly me gives red mage learn when Dualcast is incompatible with blue magic (you generally want mime versatility with 2 spell types), but I’ll try anyway.
I still can’t believe I am 1/3 of the way for 999 ABP Dualcast at this library but quadruple boost really helps a ton (geomancer stalactite rng for 20 Abp boosted Skull eater that are hard to kill while they 1 shot you had me get closer), so that you can swap jobs and combine way better.
Turning off encounters like Dhorme in the desert helps too, as that can give ff2 dead zone flashbacks.
Thanks @carnage_panda for talking live on ff5 and giving me an idea to replay, which yeah boost undermines challenge runs unless you lower it.
