FINAL FANTASY VI ADVANCE - Sound Restoration Hack #01 (GBA/GameBoy Advance)
So I'm playing Final Fantasy VI (6) Advance for the GameBoy Advance - here using the Sound Restoration-hack of the game.
Final Fantasy VI is a Japanese-Role-Playing-Game released for the SNES/Super Nintendo in 1994, later remastered for the PlayStation in 1999, for the GameBoy Advance in 2006 and for the PC not too long ago.
The GameBoy Advance release of the game has much sharper colors, sprites and backgrounds compared to the SNES/Super Nintendo version - the game looks better here. However, the original music ended up worse on the GBA-port due to the GameBoy Advance having worse capabilities to play good sound - a hack named "Sound Restoration" has fixed this.
I'm playing a hack of the GBA-release which is restoring the music of the SNES-version of the game.
I have never played FF6 before, even though I did own the game on the PlayStation 1 and did play a little bit of it in the early 2000's on my PS2.
Compared to the PSX-version the GBA-version had worse music without the hack, it also might or might not look better or worse - the PSX-release had long loading times while the SNES and GBA releases have faster loading times. I don't know about FF6 on a PSX emulator.
I am playing up until leaving Figaro Castle for Southern Figaro.
