The difficulty of this fight comes in the boss' Wall Changes, which changes his weakness and resistances. That usually means putting Gau on a physical rage so that once there's a Wall Change you don't risk healing him. But, since this is a LL game, physical attacks aren't much of an option. Locke has no way to pierce defence like others do and Celes just doesn't have the MP to put up a formidable offense of spellcasting and scanning.

Gau could go with the Stray Cat route and use Catscratch, but with the boss' high defense it doesn't do much even with Catscratch's four times damage ability. The longer this battle goes, the more of a chance the boss will use an unblockable all attack with a wall change, such as Aqua Rake.

So, I open with Giga Bolt and Bolt with with Gau and Celes respectively and just handle it from there. Edgar deals the damage once there's a wall change and Celes as well if the weakness is something she can do.

All in all, quite easy. Just have Wall Rings on.

I've played every Final Fantasy game and I would say I know every one of them like the back of my hand, but Final Fantasy VI is a different case. I know it like my body and soul. It's easily my favorite FF game and I've played it through so many times. However, I've never done a true challenge on it. Which is why I'm doing this LL challenge as a start and maybe more extreme challenges later.

LL - Low Level. Trying to keep the lowest level possible throughout the game. This probably won't be a Lowest Level possible game for two reason. One, I've never done a LL game for FFVI. Two, all of these strategies are all mine that I've figured out and if my strategy requires me to level up a level or two to get past a certain part, then I will level.

There will be no taking advantage of any cheap glitches or cheats such as Psycho Cyan, Vanish/Doom, Joker Doom, etc. Any other strategies are fair game.
