You've seen GarlandtheGreat do it many 'a' many times in his FFVII LL challenges, as well as many other people doing FFVII challenges as well and a fight like that is finally revived in this game.

Byblos isn't too hard. He has a 1 in 3 chance to use a devastating all party attack every other turn like Wind Slash where is almost kills my party. His physical attack can hurt a bit as well. Other than that, he isn't too challenging unless he kills you with status effects.

He can slow, charm, half your level, buff himself with protect, among a few others, which can make a 500 damage Fire 2 sword attack into a puny 100 or less. Not to mention halfing Galuf's level lowers the effectiveness of his Cure 2, which combined with slow can kill the party If the fight goes on too long you'll be too weakened level-wise and bogged down with status effects to do anything to him.

So, what do we do? We poison and play defense, like you've seen in many FFVII LL challenges.

Byblos is healed by poison elemental attacks but he is still vulnerable to poison and at 225 each tick of poison it is a simple job to poison him and play possum, damaging him here or there when I can.

Simple boss fight, simply strategy, done on my first try surprisingly.
