This is Supplement A to video #051 in my Final Fantasy VII playthrough. Now that the party has the Manipulate materia and the buggy, there are some side things that can be done. First of all, right in the desert surrounding the Gold Saucer, the Harpy enemy will appear. This enemy has the Aqualung enemy skill. You can wait for the monster to use it, or you can manipulate him and force him to do it. Aqualung is very powerful at this point in the game. It is a water attack against all enemies.

Then, in the buggy, the party fords the river from the Gold Saucer area to the Corel area. On the beach south of Costa del Sol, and many beaches on the Western Continent, you can meet up with the Beachplug enemy. This enemy has the Big Guard enemy skill, which puts Haste, Barrier (Protect), and MBarrier (Shell) on all allies. You must manipulate the Beachplug and use Big Guard on all allies.

Next, the party catches the ship from Costa del Sol to Junon. If you want to have access to your buggy in the Junon area, you must enter Costa del Sol while in the buggy. Then, bribe the cargo ship guard with 100 gil, and set sail once more. Once in Junon, talk to the sailor who's waving his arms around for the air taxi. You can get out of Junon easily this way.

One reason to return to the Junon area is the Zemzelett enemy. If you manipulate this big bird, you can learn the White Wind enemy skill. Very useful healing skill.

Also, there is an old hermit in a cave north of the forest in the Junon area. You need the buggy to ford the river and reach this cave. I will be back here when I have the number of battles needed to get something good.

For now, it's off to Fort Condor. Yes, Shinra is attacking those poor people once more.
