This is video #048 in my Final Fantasy VII playthrough. While exploring the Gold Saucer, the party visits the Chocobo Square. You can bet on races here. If you pick the correct winner and runner-up chocobo, you can win items or GP.
In the Wonder Square, the party meets perhaps the spooniest character in the entire Final Fantasy series, Cat Shi...--oops, I mean, Cait Sith. After giving some bad fortunes, Cait Sith forces himself into the party. Seems a bit suspicious to me. The most useful thing about Cait Sith is the Manipulate materia that he is carrying.
When they return to the Battle Square, they find that something is terribly wrong. When Dio arrives, he misinterprets what happened and sends the party down to Corel Prison.
Once in Corel Prison, the party sees Barret, but he seems out of sorts.
