The end has been reached. While AV is not the hardest superboss in FFXI anymore, I wanted to experience it. To spawn AV, there are 10 other bosses that needed to be killed. These can be thought of in three paths: (A) Prudence, (B) Hope, and (C) Justice. In order to spawn each of these, two monsters must be killed, and their drops (along with one HQ organ of appropriate monster) must be traded at specific ???. For all of these kills, I am a Lv99 Summoner (sub-job White Mage). I am in Talih ilevel 119 gear from Ambuscade and using the Gridarvor. I'm also using max trust: tank/ healer/ dps/ dps or support Trust.
Absolute Virtue auto-spawns after Jailer of Love is dead if the Jailer is killed in less than two hours. He is claimed by whoever popped the ??? and immediately aggro'd. This boss hits like a truck. I don't know if it was Meteor move or something else, but I was regularly taking 70% dmg, and i'm not the tank. I came relatively close to dying, and this is the first time with full trust and prepared that that's happened. I mean who doesn't die to a random bunny unprepared. But, this was unbelievable, and the scaling from Love to Absolute Virtue was kind of nuts.
I can see why no one was able to clear it at 75-era.
