Final Fantasy XI - Jailer of Faith (and Ix’aern DRG)
0This video shows the Jailer of Faith and the Dragoon version of Ix'aern.
It is part of my journey to spawn and kill Absolute Virtue. While AV is not the hardest superboss in FFXI anymore, I wanted to experience it. To spawn AV, there are 10 other bosses that needed to be killed. These can be thought of in three paths: (A) Prudence, (B) Hope, and (C) Justice. In order to spawn each of these, two monsters must be killed, and their drops (along with one HQ organ of appropriate monster) must be traded at specific ???. For all of these kills, I am a Lv99 Summoner (sub-job White Mage). I am in Talih ilevel 119 gear from Ambuscade and using the Gridarvor. I'm also using max trust: tank/ healer/ dps/ dps or support Trust.
In order to spawn the Ix’aern (DRG), the 'correct' Aern needs to be kill in the central area of Garden of Ru'Hmet's second floor. There are three Aern in four rooms at G-8, I-8, G-10, and I-10. Killing the correct Aern is guarenteed to spawn the Dragoon, but unlike the Jailer of Temperance, the correct Aern is not guaranteed to spawn. Like the Ghrah M Chips, this also took hours. The Dragoon finally spawned in the third room of my sixth cycle, i.e. on my 69th kill. This would be nice except it didn't drop the Deed of Sensibility. Instead it dropped the Vice. So, I had to start over. It spawned again in the first room on the second full cycle (so ~30).
The Jailer of Faith is spawned by trading a High Quality Euvhi Organ inside one of the second floor of one of the species tower at H-5, E-8, K-8, J-11, or F-11. Like the Jailer of Fortitude's location, it moves every 15 minutes, and I always had to fight things along the way. It took a bit, but nothing in comparison to other grinds.
