Final Fantasy XI - Jailer of Temperance (and Ix’aern MNK)
And so the journey to spawn and kill Absolute Virtue begins. Certainly, AV is not the hardest superboss in FFXI anymore, but I wanted to experience it. To spawn AV, there are 10 other bosses that needed to be killed. These can be thought of in three paths: (A) Prudence, (B) Hope, and (C) Justice. In order to spawn each of these, two monsters must be killed, and their drops (along with one HQ organ of appropriate monster) must be traded at specific ???. The best visualization of how this works (in my opinion) is found here: http://wiki.homepointxi.com/Category:...
This video shows the Jailer of Temperance and the Monk version of Ix'aern because they are both in the Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi.
For all of these kills, I am a Lv99 Summoner (sub-job White Mage). I am in Talih ilevel 119 gear from Ambuscade and using the Gridarvor. I'm also using max trust: tank/ healer/ dps/ dps or support Trust.
In order to spawn the Ix’aern (MNK), a HQ Aern Organ must be traded to the ??? at G-7 or I-7 on the Bottom Floor. I employed a THF trust to farm the organ off the Aern in the room with the ???. I also cleared the room before spawning the enemy.
The Jailer of Temperance is on the floor above in the Garden. It spawns a H-4, C-8, J-13, or F-13 after defeating the Eo'zdei. As I understand it, this is a guaranteed pop, but that might not be the case. I got very lucky and it spawned after the first one was killed. Both of these fights were very easy.
