This is the first part of the Crystal Tower, Labyrinth of the Ancients! A 24 person raid that splits you into three Alliances with eight players, four damage dealers/DPS, two healers and two tanks! But more people=more problems, drama and trolling sometimes in pubs. Luckily all we had was just someone accusing our Bard of doing nothing.

9:13-Bone Dragon battle. AWFUL pull in this video must have been the healers accidentally aggroing it lol. Basically this thing has three lives. Poison will fill around the room now and then making it dangerous to move long distances at times. The Skeleton adds need to be taken to the end of a row of platforms and defeated. One skeleton per row as the skeletons will tether and go faster otherwise once they return to life. The skeletons need to be defeated again before they reach the dragon so DPS players need to focus on them when it happens. After doing this for another phase you'll end up on the final phase in which DPS players burn the boss to death finally and tanks pick up the Ahriman type adds.


16:29-Atomos battle. This one is controversial and different. The three alliances are split up here with each having to take on their own Atomos. Each Alliance needs four people to remain on the platform or else it will not be possible to damage for any Alliance to damage Atomos! Atomos itself doesn't need a tank but the tanks have to control the position of the spawning Adds to keep those on the platforms safe/able to DPS the Adds. If one Alliance fails and wipes, adds spawn that kill everyone else! That's what people hate the most about this battle.

19:57-Thanatos battle. Eh not hard honestly. The gimmick here is the Magic Pots need to be protected from Adds. The Magic Pots will give you a buff that lets you actually hurt the boss now and then, when that happens try to focus on the boss but if a pot is in serious need help out too, no pots means no chance to beat the boss! The Sandman adds are the main threat to the pots as they will not aggro onto anyone else but the pots so kill them ASAP. Nemesis adds need to be picked up by the tanks though. Not really hard though.

I've done a video on this before but decided to do it as a Dragoon this time. This run ended up being about the same as my first attempt honestly though.. The only wipes are at a certain King or if someone trolls/fails the Atomos battle which luckily did not happen this run.

There's not much reason to come here anymore though sadly with myth being easy to get/phased out, the hunt and with the Syrcus Tower ultimately being more rewarding, easier and faster and soon will end the weekly loot lockout. I just came here for old time's sake. The CT is also much more pub friendly and of course nowhere near as tough or rewarding as the latter Coils can be.

Don't get me wrong it's not pointless to come here, the ilevel 80 gear you get isn't bad for placeholders or glamour. Note that the Fuma set for Monk HAS been confirmed to be shared with Ninja once it comes out.

Story is:
With the help of Cid nan Garlond, members of the expedition to the Crystal Tower have successfully penetrated the defenses of the Eight Sentinels. The ancient Allagan structure is not so easily entered, however, and the Labyrinth of the Ancients now awaits the fellowship of NOAH as they seek the ultimate prize.
