Final Fantasy XIV ARR The Binding Coil of Bahamut Turn 1
2This is the first of the Binding Coil of Bahamut, it's mostly for introduction purposes, there are some mechanics but not much and it's usually over quite fast provided everyone knows what to do.
Things to note:
1.ADS-Allagan Defense System, it's the first thing you'll fight it's a mini boss. The main thing here is to dodge it's lasers, have a bard around to silence high voltage or else your party will suffer paralysis that can't be removed until it passes. Eventually it will summon some adds, the tank's job is to pick those up and make sure they don't tether to ADS. Make sure to focus on ADS, since it will wipe you if not killed within four minutes. Simple as that.
2.A lot of the trash mobs can be skipped as you see in this video, our tanks were somewhat newish but you get the idea, sacrifice pulls save a lot of time.
3.Caduceus is the last boss, while he does have some mechanics they are typically ignored. The main thing we did was not stand on the platforms that light up as they will summon adds. Avoid the poison pools the boss spits and at about 60% HP the boss will split into two, make sure they are separated and plan to kill them around the same time as once one dies the other gains a huge buff so alternate your attacks for the best results.
And yes, this is technically not the intended way to beat him since the adds can actually be used by dragging them to the boss BUT it's just generally faster to ignore the slime mechanics like we did here. This was a run done with my guildies and two randoms FYI.
Oh and plot wise, the Binding Coil DOES have an interesting story. You finally get to see what Alisaie was concerning herself with and more about the fate of Louisoix and Bahamut itself of course.
You get 20 Allagan Tomestone of Mythology and 10 Allagan Tomestone of Soldiery for completing this which is not bad considering how fast it can be and item level 90 gear! This is also very EASY to do with pubs in the duty finder too so don't be afraid to try this one, I think everyone knows how to do it by now but if not it's very easy to teach newcomers so just take the time to do so.
Oh and the music is AWESOME too. So don't be afraid of The Coils, yet, not until the later turns where it's not safe to pub.
