Previously, the party did the story quests "The Pauper Prince", "Hunter Becomes the Hunted", and "The Mutant Marauder". Cindy has finished up her repairs to the Regalia. Now, she has issued the story quest "The Errand Prince" to deliver a package to the owner of the motel at Longwythe Rest Area. They will be taking a meandering route.

First, they talk to Takka in Hammerhead (time 1:15). They take on the hunt "Howling Wind of Hunger". The mark is a group of seven Sabertusks in the Weaverwilds. The recommended level is Level 2. It is pretty easy, but don't expect hunts to stay that way.

The party finds the septet of Sabertusks not far northeast of Hammerhead (time 3:13). They eliminate them with little trouble.

Back in Hammerhead, they report in to Takka (time 6:13). "Howling Wind of Hunger" complete! The bounty is 740 gil and a Hi-Elixir. They earn 1 rank star towards their Hunt Rank. For completing the first hunt, the player earns the trophy, "My First Hunt". I will save the next hunt, "Varmints of the Wastelands", for later.

In Ascension, the party spends 8 AP on "Light Phase" under Combat (time 7:30). This reduces the MP cost of phasing. Under Magic, they spend 20 AP on "Powercraft", which raises the potency of crafted spells by 10. They also spend 24 AP on "Magic Action", which awards AP whenever Noctis uses elemancy. Under Recovery, they spend 10 AP on "Rapid Regen", which boosts the recovery rate of HP and MP while in cover. Under Techniques, they spend 8 AP on Ignis's "Regroup" technique. For 2 tech points, Ignis can recover the party's HP. His next technique, "Enhancement", is one of the best in the game.

At Hammerhead's weapon shop, they pick up some weapons (time 8:55). The War Sword is an upgrade over the Two-Handed Sword. The Avengers are an upgrade over the Daggers. The Cocytus is an upgrade over the Handgun.

Then, the party climbs aboard the Regalia (time 10:04). Noctis drives manually. The player earns the trophy "Learner's Permit" for driving the Regalia the first time.

They first drive west to the Three Valleys parking spot (time 12:05). This will allow them to fast-travel to this parking spot in the future.

Afterwards, they drive east past Hammerhead towards Ostium Gorge. They park at the Crown City Checkpoint (time 14:51). Things seem peaceful enough, but they cannot head into Insomnia. Just west of the parking spot, they find the Brackham Haven campground.

Northwest of the campground, they find ingredient gathering points that yield Aegir Root (time 17:07). Ignis learns the recipe Multi-Meat Sandwich, which requires Aegir Root, Gighee Ham, and Daggerquill Breast.

The party rests at Brackham Haven (time 17:45). They're looking out for camp tours, but there is not one here. Gladiolus reaches Survival Level 2, Remedy Retriever. The player earns the trophy "Survival Rookie" for raising Gladio's Survival level the first time. In the morning, the party talks about the daemons outside the city.

East of the campground, the party finds a Fossil Wood (time 20:06).

The party then begins driving back to the west (time 20:49).

Past some fortifications, they find Palmaugh Haven, another campground, on the south side of the road (time 23:53). They rest here in hopes of a camp tour.

That night, Prompto bugs Noctis (time 24:49). He asks Noctis to do some ... thing with him in the morning. All right.

In the morning, the tour "The Hallowed Hill of Hammerhead" begins (time 25:36). Noctis has to accompany Prompto west to the hill overlooking Hammerhead.

Funny events ensue as they reach the destination (time 27:04). The responses you give determine the rewards you get. For the best reward, the party chooses (1) "On a hike, just like you", (2) "Oh, y'know", and (3) "Your grandpa taking a nap." Prompto gets a picture with Cindy, and the party earns 20 AP.

Next time, the party will continue on their way to Longwythe Rest Area for "The Errand Prince".
