Previously, the party began exploring Costlemark Tower in southeastern Duscae. They found the Emerald Stone for Dino's quest "A Treasure Beyond Measure", among other things, and they made their way down to the start of the cube maze.
The party resumes on the large floor that begins the cube maze. There is a warp tile that leads to the exit.
The party examines the southeastern kinetic cube to begin the cube maze (time 2:10). This portion of the maze is straightforwards. Just continue examining the cube to enter the maze. Daemons await at numerous points throughout the maze.
Before long, the party reaches the bottom floor of the maze (time 6:30). On this floor, a horde of enemies awaits, including a Red Giant. I am not jolly about Red Giants, but at least there is only one right now.
There is a crawlway in the western wall. It leads to another locked door (time 13:00).
The party checks the kinetic cube in the main room of the floor (time 14:07). It takes them back up to the start of the cube maze on the seventh floor. Another kinetic cube has become operable in the northwest of the floor.
Now, the party uses the northwest kinetic cube to reenter the cube maze (time 16:00). This leg is a little more complicated. The objective is not to reach the same floor again, or there will be an even nastier horde of enemies waiting.
Soon, the party will reach a spot where they can operate the cube below them or the cube to the west. To keep going, they must operate the cube to the west (time 16:47). Some Ereshkigals will be waiting if they choose the correct path. Afterwards, they must keep going to the south. In essence, they must trace a counterclockwise route to the southeast corner.
They will reach a sort of crossroads in the southern portion of the map. They will be able to operate the northeast kinetic cube or the southern one. To proceed to the boss, they must operate the northeast cube (time 27:28).
In the southeast corner, the party turns north and follows a linear sequence of cubes. They eventually reach an alternate bottom floor (time 33:56).
Eventually, they reach an area with an elevator (time 37:26).
Before the elevator, they find a Mega Phoenix (time 37:42).
The party takes the elevator down (time 38:17). At the bottom, they find the dungeon's boss, the Jabberwock. This big boy is weak to ice-elemental attacks. It is also susceptible to poison. Note that its breath can inflict petrification. Fortunately, petrification does not last that long.
In time, they defeat the Jabberwock (time 45:22). Oh, fractious day! Noctis claims his tenth royal arm, the Sword of the Tall. "Costlemark Tower" complete! The party earns a base of 15,000 EXP apiece, though it is more with the Moogle Charms equipped. Ignis learns the recipe "Crown City Roast", which utilizes Leiden Pepper and Jabberwock Sirloin.
To leave the boss room, the party utilizes the convenient warp tile (time 48:26). This leads to the first floor.
On the stairway, the party uses another warp tile to leave the dungeon, since it is daytime (time 48:48). Finally, they're out of that horrid tower!
For "A Treasure Beyond Measure", the party begins driving southeast to Galdin Quay (time 49:50).
They soon arrive back in Galdin (time 51:57).
At the pier, they talk to their pal, Dino (time 55:47). "A Treasure Beyond Measure" complete! The party earns a base of 3,000 EXP apiece and an Emerald Bracelet. The Emerald Bracelet enhances Strength by 60. This concludes Dino's quest line, I believe.
Next time, the party will rest at Galdin's hotel to tally up their EXP, and then they will start working on "Adventurer from Another World", which popped up when they were at the Cauthess Rest Area in video #057.
Thanks for watching!
