Previously, Noctis carried out the quest "Close Encounters of the Terra Kind", a collaboration event with "Terra Wars". Now, he will finally get on with the story and sail to Altissia for the story quest "Brave New World".
After resuming, the party fast-travels back to Cape Caem (time 0:36).
At the garden, Noctis sows some seeds (time 2:03).
Then, the party spends the night at the house (time 2:55).
At the garden, they harvest three Caem Carrots (time 4:21). They exchange three to Tony in exchange for a random auto part. They get the Prompto Sticker.
At the lighthouse, they choose to ride the elevator down to the dock (time 5:22). In a scene, Umbra rushes up to the lighthouse so that Noctis can exchange a message with Luna. Noctis chooses the most affectionate option again. Afterwards, the party rides down the elevator to the dock. Several people are waiting for them downstairs.
On a spindle near the elevator, there is Heliodor Bracelet (time 6:58).
On a spindle down the stairs, the party finds another Cosmogony entry, "15:2, 'Nadir'" (time 7:38).
On the east end of the dock, the party finds a Hi-Potion (time 8:44).
A scene takes place as the party approaches Marshal Cor (time 9:07). Cor and Cid both have some weighty things to say.
After the scene, the party should talk to Cor again (time 10:30). He gives them Magic Flask #12.
When the party is ready to go, they approach the ship (time 11:52). "Brave New World" complete! The party earns a base of 1,000 EXP apiece. The player earns the trophy "Seaworthy" for completing Chapter 8. Prompto snaps one of my favorite pictures of the game.
Afterwards, Chapter 9: Callings begins (time 13:45).
We briefly cut to a couple of suspicious characters in Altissia (time 14:07).
As we rejoin the party, the story quest "Altissia, City on the Sea" begins (time 15:07). The first objective is to gain entry to Accordo. We have a long--but skippable--cutscene on the ship, as the party motors to Altissia. Cid advises the party to visit an old associate of his Weskham, who has a bar named Maagho in Altissia.
Eventually, the party disembarks at the dock in Altissia (time 24:15). In another scene, Cid gives the party the Royal Vessel Key so they can pilot the ship themselves. However, they cannot do so just yet. This feature is exclusive to the Royal Edition.
A scene takes place as the party approaches the customs station (time 28:22). It costs 3,000 gil to defer to Cid, so Noctis should leave it to Ignis.
Once they are in town, the party decides to search for Weskham's Bar, Maagho. Getting there requires a gondola ride. Before going there, the party will comb the city for treasure. This town is sort of like Venice: a maze of narrow streets and canals.
The southwest section of the city, where the docks are located, is Maruzza Street. The Sonelio Plaza fishing spot can be found in the southeast.
By a trash bin near the Sonelio Plaza fishing spot, the party finds a Debased Silverpiece (time 31:27).
In the north of the southwest section, the party finds another Debased Silverpiece (time 33:05).
A scene takes place as they party approaches the bridge north of the docks (time 34:08). The sidequest "Symbol of the Peace" begins. The party must see Luna's wedding dress on display at the Vivienne Westwood bridal shop.
An accessory shop is located on the next section to the north (time 35:49).
The northwest section, where the Leville Hotel is located, is Paserna Street. Upstairs in the northeast, there is a gondola on the turquoise line. This is the Port West Station. The only other accessible stop is the Listro Park North Station in the north of town.
In the west of Paserna Street, there is a general store (time 42:35). It sells some good stuff. Under Auto Parts, it sells Superhydrophobic Coating, which helps keep the car cleaner. The party picks up "Memories of FF TYPE-0". Under Leisure Goods, the shop sells Dragon's Beard line, which has durability of 2,000. Under Key Items, the party picks up a Cactuar Sculpture to take to Talcott. They pick up "Iron Shelf Recipes, Vol. 8", which teaches Ignis the recipe "Kupoberry Cheesecake". They also pick up "Iron Shelf Recipes, Vol. 9", which teaches Ignis the recipe "Golden Chocobo Tart".
In the alley west of the stairway in the southeast of this district, the party finds a Glass Gemstone (time 45:29).
