Previously, the party did Vyv's last sidequest, "The Cursed Canvas", and defeated Chadarnook in a hunt in Altissia. Then, they did a few hunts originating at Coernix Station - Alstor. Now, they will continue carrying out hunts to reach Hunter Rank 4 so they can do Takka's last quest.
After resuming, the party talks to Wiz at the Wiz Chocobo Post (time 0:34). They take on the hunt "Red in Tooth and Claw". The target is a pack of nine Voretooths in the Malacchi Hills to the east.
The pack of Voretooths is just across the main road to the east (time 2:16). The party soon puts them down.
At the Wiz Chocobo Post, the party reports to Wiz (time 4:15). "Red in Tooth and Claw" complete! The party earns 2 rank stars, 2,140 gil, and a Hi-Elixir.
Next, the party takes on the hunt "Exorcism of the Nebulawood". The target is a group of three Mindflayers in the Nebulawood at night. The party chooses to wait until nightfall.
With the Regalia, the party drives northeast (time 6:00). They pull over at the Nebulawood parking spot (time 7:00).
East of the road, they find a treasure spot that yields a Fencer's Anklet (time 7:41).
Farther east of the road, the party finds the three Mindflayers (time 7:55). They make it look a bit easy at their level. I'm pretty sure the Mindflayers can inflict Petrify, so be careful.
The party starts driving back to the Wiz Chocobo Post (time 10:34). They soon arrive (time 11:31).
They report in to Wiz (time 11:52). "Exorcism of the Nebulawood" complete! They earn 2 rank stars, 3,190 gil, and a Moon Pendant.
Then, the party takes on the hunt "Thunder in Them Thar Hills". The target is a group of five Thunder Bombs in the Malacchi Hills at night.
Along the path to Fociaugh Hollow, the party finds the five Thunder Bombs (time 15:35). They absorb lightning-elemental attacks, but they are weak to one-handed swords, daggers, and light. Pretty easy at my party's level.
At Killiam Haven, the party does some Elemancy and absorbs some more elemental energy. Then, they choose to camp (time 20:09). They have Crown City Dive-Style Dumplings again.
At the Wiz Chocobo Post, the party reports in to Wiz (time 23:05). "Thunder in Them Thar Hills" complete! The party earns 2 rank stars, 3,330 gil, and a Megalixir. There are no other new hunts that the party can do here at their current rank.
Then, the party fast-travels to Hammerhead (time 23:54).
At Takka's Pit Stop, they talk to Takka (time 24:48). They take on the hunt "Wild Beauties". The target is a trio of Anaklabans in the Weaverwilds during the daytime.
The party starts driving northwest from Hammerhead (time 26:00). They pull over near the intersection with the road leading north to Formouth Garrison (time 27:04).
Past the intersection, the party finds another stranded motorist (time 27:31). Talking to him starts the sidequest "Roadside Assistance". As normal, he needs a Repair Kit.
The party hands over the Repair Kit (time 27:49). "Roadside Assistance" complete! The party earns a base of 500 EXP apiece and 900 gil.
In the nearby ruins, the party finds the targets for "Wild Beauties" (time 28:22). They take out the Anaklabans without any major problems.
The party begins driving back to Hammerhead (time 31:03). They soon arrive (time 32:05).
They report the hunt to Takka (time 32:34). "Wild Beauties" complete! They earn 2 rank stars, 3,350 gil, and a Megalixir.
Next, the party takes the hunt "Bounty-Hunted Beauties". The targets are three Anakadoms and three Anaks in the Weaverwilds during the daytime. They are located just a bit to the north of the previous mark.
The party begins driving northwest again (time 33:36). They park at the Norduscaen Blockade parking spot (time 35:05).
They find their mark a short distance northeast of the parking spot (time 35:34). The Anaks are pretty easy, but the Anakadoms are stronger. With Garudas help, the party takes them out.
At the Regalia, the party begins driving back to Hammerhead (time 38:34). They soon arrive (time 39:55).
They report in to Takka (time 40:25). "Bounty-Hunted Beauties" complete! The party earns 2 rank stars, 4,220 gil, and another Megalixir.
"Serpent of the Abyss" is a rematch against Jormungand in Crestholm Channels. The party will take that on later.
The party begins driving south to Longwythe Rest Area (time 41:26). They arrive after a short drive (time 42:57).
