Story 7/10
As far as horror games go this story was kind of...Predictable? From the first note you receive you can kind of paint the picture of what this game is about. An unstable man and his daughter are stranded in a cellar after an apocalyptic event. He commits terrible acts against this girl and ends up doing everything to ensure his own survival only to come back to the cellar to sit and fade away in his madness. It wasn't exactly a story with a twist ending or something that had me going the whole time. This game also isn't very scary...It's tragic and twisted, but not scary. The scariest part is how little you can see rounding a corner but the rest is just...Creepy.
Audio 7/10
There isn't too much audio in this game. Most of it is atmospheric, footsteps, generator noises, random orchestra's picking up in tense moments, the usual dark basement noises. There were a couple of human noises, Katie crying, Katie screaming, Katie dying, that made it pretty dang spooky at times. The audio was basic, nothing too mind blowing at the end of the day.
Graphics 8/10
I love this kind of graphic in a horror game. You don't need AAA graphics to make a scary scenario and this game as well as a couple other titles prove that point very well. The simple graphics and the amount of darkness the player is forced to walk through really set up the scary parts in this game. You have a small circle of light to guide you and that is it, the rest is gray and black, occasionally red. It does it's job very well in a game that is otherwise not very scary.

WASD and mouse. Super standard.
TL;DR
Fingerbones is a horror game that doesn't provide much horror. Instead it takes you on a creepy walkthrough full of terrible acts and crimes, no monster, no threat, just humans being terrible to each other as always. The graphics are what really push this game towards horror to me. You see very little outside of your flashlight and the long hallways really build suspense in the right parts. If you are looking for a creepy walk, this is your game. If you are itching for a gripping horror experience, I would suggest looking elsewhere. Not a bad game regardless!
Do I recommend this game? Sure! It's not a bad experience. Just might not be as scary as it could have been.
Should you play this game? Sure boy it's FREE, what's there to lose?!
