Story 5/10
This game doesn't really have much going for it. There's not a lot that makes sense and they things that TRY to make sense end up either not working right or leaving the player confused and contemplating life choices. Sore throws you in to some kind of jail cell with a dead guy hanging from a ceiling and a jail guard who hates his life. That's really...That's really it. You can find various clues and solve some kinds of 'puzzles' but really all those are are random things that you happen to click on a random amount of times until something happens. Nothing flows well together and nothing really makes the world feel like it has any meaning, which is a dang shame because this could've been a really interesting game. The idea is there, but there's nothing helping it go anywhere.
Audio 6/10
The sound effects are sharp, loud, and repetitive. There's constant thundering noise and rain that doesn't loop correctly. Not to mention each time you interact with something the sound goofs up in one way or another. The part that really killed me was the sound of the keys coming out of the toilet....OUCH.
Graphics 7/10
The graphics are probably the one thing that made this game for me. I'm a sucker for pixel graphics, I'VE SAID IT A MILLION TIMES, and this game really reminded me of 'Home' for some reason. It was charming and almost adorable, but the one thing that really stinks is how well it would've done in a creepy situation. The plain colors and simple style would've really done well had it had the right motivation.
Controls
WASD and space to interact. The controls were weird. Things were slow and it was hard to actually interact with anything. The thing that really SUCKED for me, being I'm stupid, is escape taking you back to the menu and restarting the game...I still can't wrap my head around how that would be a good mechanic...Or why I kept doing it.
TL;DR
Sore had the potential to be a really deep and creepy game...Had it had the right motivation behind it. You are plunged in to a simpel world with a dead guy in some kind of jail cell. You float around and click on things trying to figure out what happened...But you never do. Nothing makes sense after that point. The posters on the wall have no meaning, the brick you interact with is hardly there and has to be hit a random amount of times, the toilet explodes in to keys and when you FINALLY think you have the door unlocked a very loud footstep sound plays and...Nothing happens. There's just nothing here to back this game up and that's unfortunate.
Would I recommend this game? : It IS free but...No.
Should you play this game?: Again...It's FREE.
