Fergus: No, I guess they got captured again.
A very intense chapter with my very limited resources. Brighton is the farthest from the escape tile and can reach it on turn 16 with 4 tiles to spare, which will be the aim since I don't want to lose him yet.
The core strategy is to let the enemies capture Lara and Karin instead of doing actual damage, to then easily kill them with my other units and repeat the process. Brighton and Fergus only have 5 movement so they must waste as little movement as possible when fighting, while Macha and Leif have some leeway with their 6 movement.
The central arena is the big RNG fest of this chapter. I need all the enemies in it to be dead when I open its door, or at the very least that only the ones manageable by Brighton and Fergus are alive, but more importantly Eyvel must kill Marreta in 2 attack, as it is the only "chance" to not have her be recruited in chapter 12, and this alone has less than a 50% chance of success.
Beside Eyvel who I will never see again, I also got my first Staff user, Nanna. While a staff user may sound like an excellent news, she is probably the worst one in that regard. She has a pitiful E-rank staff, "only" 20 points away from D-rank, and due to both the way staff grinding works in this game, the almost complete lack of D-rank staves until chapter 17, and her promotion not giving any Staff Wexp, she will only gain 1 Staff Wexp per turn until C-rank, and that is assuming she has a target to heal every turn. Nevertheless, as I will only get one other staff user for the whole game, I will grind her as far as possible.
Apart from the arena, the main concern of this chapter is the north side, protected by the boss and several archers, as well as a group of mages who are also rushing towards my army. It is the main reason why so much effort was put into Leif in earlier chapters. With enough Spd and a Pure Water, he is strong enough to ORKO every last one of them with his Light Brand, with decent safety thanks to Nanna's 20% bonus from support and Charm. I checked the stats of the boss at the beginning of the chapter to be sure that Leif could double him, which isn't always the case. My only 1-2 range alternatives at this point of the game were Nanna with her Earth Sword (she is too slow to ORKO anyone), or a less accurate Flame Sword user, with my only unit able to get B-rank in time being Leif... Too bad the game doesn't let you recruit a mage or something, as it would be very useful here.
There were some messy moments in this attempt due to RNG but it is to be expected given it's length.
