Byleth and his class check out Jeritza's room, where Manuela is found to have been critically injured, and we enter a secret passageway which could be where Flayn was taken to, and we find the Death Knight, as he is our opponent. Without Edelgard on outside, the Death Knight and his troops are tough opponents, and there are a lot of warp tiles in the underground passageway.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

At the start of this chapter, I recruited Lysithea, the first out-of-house student for this playthrough, and I did use New Game + to get her to B Rank in Reason so she can use Dark Spikes Τ to take out the Death Knight in one hit, and I recruited Shamir so that she can help with taking out some of the Flame Emperor Soldiers on this map.
We find Manuela in Jeritza's room, and she had been attacked, and we find a secret passageway which leads to an underground chamber, and the Death Knight is there, and your house is not available for this mission.
The Death Knight is an optional opponent, you don't have to defeat him in order to win, you have to defeat every other enemy on this map, and there are warp tiles on this map which can warp units to another part of the map that would normally be inaccessible.
Unless you bring some Chest Keys and Door Keys, some of the soldiers will drop them when defeated, you can have Byleth promoted to Thief to open the doors without the use of a Door Key, and out of the Black Eagle house, Petra has the easiest time going into Thief, as that is the class you will most likely have her as, or if you have recruited Ashe, he can open doors and chests without the need for a key or being in the Thief class because of Lockpick, his Personal Ability.
I recommend splitting up your units, have at least three units take the warp panel at the start, so I would have an Archer, a Healer, and one of your powerful units take the east side. As you won't have your house leader for this mission, if you have recruited Shamir, she is a good unit to bring with you for this mission.
This map has some Levers, which you can use to activate warp tiles, and some of them lead to chests, one of them contains a March Ring, which increases movement by 1, and another contains a Levin Sword, which is a sword that uses the Magic stat and has a 1-2 range, and if forged, it will have a 1-3 range, making it very good for fighting opponents with a high Defense stat, as the Levin Sword targets their lower Res. The left side of the map does have some Avoid Tiles, which can be good if you want to avoid some enemy attacks, as they are in many different classes, like Archer, Mage, Cavalier, and many others, and some of them use Battalions.
Then we have the Death Knight, you can use a Door Key to open the door and send your units to defeat the remaining enemies, you don't have to defeat the Death Knight to complete this mission. He is a tough opponent, the Scythe of Sariel has a high crit rate, and his Counterattack makes him counter any attacks, even ranged attacks like a bow. If you can defeat the Death Knight, you can get a Dark Seal, which you can use to promote units to the Dark Mage class, and you will need two if you want to get to Dark Bishop.
For ways to defeat him, if you have Lysithea recruited, Dark Spikes Τ will likely take out the Death Knight in one attack, as the Black Eagles don't have a reliable unit for fighting him, while for the Blue Lions, Sylvain with the Lance of Ruin and Knightkneeler has a good chance of dealing a lot of damage to the Death Knight.
After either defeating the Death Knight or every enemy on the map, the mysterious masked being, who is revealed to be the Flame Emperor, appears. Then we go through a bit of dialogue with Seteth, where we learn that Jeritza could be the true identity of the Death Knight, and Flayn then becomes part of Byleth's class, and we go through even more dialogue before the chapter ends.
