We have made it to Chapter 2, and Byleth is given his next assignment, which is to fight off some bandits at the Red Canyon, but that will not happen until the end of the month. Starting with this month, Byleth can recruit students from other houses, but they need certain requirements, and Byleth now has access to new areas in the Monastery.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

Byleth and Edelgard receive their next task from Seteth, and it is to drive off the bandits at the Red Canyon, and after a bit of dialogue, Byleth can now explore the Monastery. Jeralt will have a quest which will unlock Battalions by finding the Tactics Primer in his room, and in New Game +, you will have Battalions earned from previous playthroughs, and you could even equip them in the mock battle in Chapter 1, and they allow you to use Gambits, and some require a high level in Authority, and their strength is based on the Charm stat, which is also what determines Gambit hit rate and avoid enemy Gambits.
You can recruit students from other houses, you need to have Byleth at a high enough skill rank and stat requirements, but there is another way, if you get Byleth up to B Support with that student, they will have a 20% chance of asking to join your class. There are some exceptions, I cannot recruit Dimitri, Dedue, and Claude on Black Eagles, and I guess Hilda cannot be recruited either, but she can be recruited on Blue Lions, but if you are doing other routes, you cannot recruit Edelgard and Hubert, and another trick, if you are playing as female Byleth, you can recruit Sylvain without any requirements.
Throughout parts of this playthrough, I check the bulletin board to see if there are any quests, and I will list some, if you talk to the Head Chef at the dining hall, you have to find three books in the library, and report to the Head Chef, and you can cook with one of your students, and you can only cook up to four times per month, and they do stack, so if you cook a dish that boosts Dexterity, and on another day you cook a dish that boosts Charm, you do keep the Dexterity boost, I don't recommend doing this early in the game, as I prefer to use Activity Points on sharing a meal.
You get access to the Cathedral this month, talk to the Choir Coordinator to get a quest, and when you cross the bridge, if you talk to Ferdinand, he gives you a bit of lore about the six noble families in Adrestia. You have to pick up a Choir Sign Up Sheet, which is near Dorothea, and the pale blue cloth she is looking for, Caspar has it, but she does give detail on what it is if you talk to her as female Byleth, I could only wonder how weird things get.
When you complete the quest, you will unlock Choir Practice, where you can build up Faith with two units, and there are special events on the calender where it will select two random units for Choir Practice.
The next quest is from Seteth, what you have to do is talk to a female student at the Officers Academy for a Dissidents Intel, return to Seteth to complete the quest. You can interact with the Saints Statues to get a bit of lore about the Four Saints and their relation to Seiros.
The Marketplace is accessible, and you can buy items and weapons, and that is another thing that is carried over through New Game +, because in normal gameplay, more items become accessible after each chapter.
Some units have different quotes based on the route, and some examples are Sylvain, Ingrid, and Marianne, and when talking to Dorothea, depending on which gender of Byleth you are playing as, pick "I'll tell Manuela" for male Byleth, and "Let's search for it" for female Byleth to raise support with Dorothea.
Then it is time to be a teacher and instruct students, so you can choose which skill you want your units to work on, and you can share meals to boost motivation. Some units have Hidden Talents, Edelgard for example has Reason, and if you choose it 4 times, you get a Star, and if you get three stars, you unlock the Hidden Talent. There is Group Tasks where you can build up Riding, Heavy Armor, or Flying with the two units you select, as that will boost support between them. A unit will ask a question, and if you answer correctly, that unit will gain a bit of motivation, and you can change a unit's Suggested Goals.
