It is time to enter the Valley of Torment at Ailell and meet up with Rodrigue, but we come across Gwendal, a man who serves House Rowe, and otherwise known as the Gray Lion. This can be a tricky map because of the burning tiles that can damage units at the end of each turn, but we should be able to stop Gwendal.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

This battle takes place at Ailell, known as the Valley of Torment, and it is the same map from Ingrid and Dorothea's paralogue, it has fire tiles that damage any non-flying units. Our opponent is Lord Gwendal, he serves House Rowe, which have betrayed Faerghus for the Adrestian Empire, and that we must wait for Rodrigue to arrive to help us out.
There are two chests on this map, one contains a Bolt Axe, which is like the Levin Sword, it is an axe that uses the magic stat, if you want to use Annette as a Warrior or Wyvern Lord, the Bolt Axe is the weapon you want for her. The other chest contains a Silver Shield, which can provide some extra Defense when equipped.
There is an Archer that will drop a Killer Bow if defeated, and if you have a Thief, you can steal the Master Seal off him, and if you are playing on Verdant Wind or Silver Snow, you would have to fight Ashe on that map, and you can recruit him after defeating him, but I think you need to have recruited Ashe in part 1 in order to get him onto your team, but on this route, Azure Moon, you instead fight a generic Archer.
For other items, a Fortress Knight has a Concoction, a Sniper has a Chest Key, which can be helpful if you didn't deploy Ashe or a Thief onto this map, or if there are no Chest Keys in your Convoy, and one thing I did not know about during this playthrough is that you can have other units check the Convoy if they are adjacent to Byleth, so I thought you needed to check the Convoy with Byleth to deposit some items.
At the start of turn 6, Rodrigue and two Kingdom Soldiers, both Armored Knights, appear from the northeastern corner of the map, and if you have Byleth talk to Rodrigue, he will give you the Sword of Moralta, it is a Sacred Weapon tied to the Crest of Fraldarius which restores HP every turn, and if unit has that Crest, the effect is increased, and it requires an A Rank on Sword, so if you have Felix as a Swordmaster or Assassin, this can be a great weapon for him.
Rodrigue is a Holy Knight with some powerful spells, like Aura, he does have a Blessed Lance for a weapon. He does have Fraldarius Soldiers for the Battalion, so Rodrigue should be able to take out as many enemies as possible, and he will move to where Dimitri is.
Then to go over Lord Gwendal, he is a Great Knight with a Lampos Shield, which you can steal off him, that will negate any bonus damage against cavalry units, so Lysithea's Dark Spike Τ will not have that extra effect, neither would a Horseslayer unless you steal that shield off Gwendal. He has Armored Blow, which gives him +6 Defense when he initiates combat, and his Defense is very high. Gwendal's Battalion is Rowe Knights, and the Gambit is Linked Horses, which have a 3x2 square range, he also has Keen Intuition, which gives him +30 Avoid if you attack him from 2 or more spaces away, this does make him a bit trickier to fight. Rodrigue can fight against Gwendal, but he will never finish him off, and he has very low Resistance, so magic attacks are good against him, he has a lot of HP, so it will take a lot of units to take Gwendal down.
After competing this chapter, you will automatically get a Hero's Relic called Areadbhar, which is tied to the Crest of Blaiddyd, and Dimitri has that Crest, so he should be able to use a Combat Art called Atrocity, which is a very powerful art that deals bonus damage against every enemy, so this is enough to make Dimitri the most overpowered unit in the game, but I would recommend only use Areadbhar when you really need to, while the Steel Lance, Killer Lance, and Short Spear are enough, and if Dimitri has a Critical Ring, he only needs all those to be that good.
