We enter The World Tree, we go through some dialogue, and then Gharnef appears, he is a Sorcerer, and he is from Marth's universe, and he is in N Tree Fort.
There are three keeps that have Dragon Veins, and one of them is guarded by Gharnef, both keeps are W Tree Fort and E Tree Fort, and you can create a bridge by activating the Dragon Veins, you can use your flying unit, like Caeda, to get to that fort.
After capturing either Trident Ruins or W Tree Fort, two Sages will appear and cast lightning throughout most of the map, defeating them will stop the lightning and increase support with Tiki. Then you have to capture some forts to advance to where Gharnef is at, and as he is a magic user, if you picked Caeda for this map, she can do very well against him. After getting Gharnef's HP down a bit, he will retreat and create copies of himself, the real Gharnef is near Trident Ruins, and there are Mages that are creating the shadows, and you have to defeat the Mages, because if you try to defeat the Gharnef copies, it will retreat and spawn infinitely, up to three can appear at once, the only way to stop them is defeating the Mages. Defeating the three Mages is part of the quest to defeating the real Gharnef, but another sub mission you can do is defeat three Fafnirs, they are dragon enemies, the class first appeared in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, but in this game, they are promoted Manaketes, making them different to the ones in Shadows of Valentia. They are weak to weapons like the Dragonslayer, and the Falchion does deal bonus damage against them, this is a good time to put Marth to the test, and you do gain support points with Marth for defeating the Fafnirs.
After defeating Gharnef, you earn a Master Seal for completing the map, and you get a cutscene where Rowan and Lianna receive the two swords, Enliron and Facinna. While Enliron is associated with Rowan, and Facinna does go with Lianna, the other twin can use that sword, so it's not exclusive to that specific twin. They deal bonus damage against Monsters, like the Outrealm Fiends, and you will be fighting a lot of monsters in the next few chapters.
