The Imperial army has received word that Fort Merceus has been captured by the mysterious mages, and we learn that Duke Aegir is the cause of this, and he has plans on luring Edelgard and her troops in order to defeat them, and Ferdinand is willing to fix everything his father has caused.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

With Duke Aegir having taken Fort Merceus, we have received our next mission, and by the way, if you haven't viewed Ferdinand's B Support with Hubert before this chapter, it will be locked, meaning you cannot view it, so it is best you have prioritized on many of Ferdinand's Support conversations earlier in the game.
One thing I have noticed is that Duke Aegir is referred to as "Former Duke Aegir" in the textbox, referencing that he is the former duke, they could of referred to him as Ludwig, his first name, even the Fire Emblem wiki refers to Duke Aegir by his first name.
Last time, we recruited Leonie, and one I forgot to go over is that she is the last recruit on this route, and she cannot be recruited on Azure Gleam, if you failed to recruit Jeralt and Byleth back in Chapter 10, you lose your chance to recruit Leonie, which effectively means that if you go that route, then Yuri would be the last recruit of Scarlet Blaze, as he also appeared in Chapter 10.
For Battle Suggestions, I recommend going with Training Points, that way you can work on different classes for your units, and when you talk to Caspar, he mentions his brother had been held hostage, and if you are wondering, Caspar's brother never appears and is never named, I don't remember is Caspar has even mentioned his brother in Three Houses, but I do remember he is the second son of Count Bergliez, and Three Houses had some characters that were mentioned, but don't physically appear until this game, Count Bergliez being one of those characters, and Count Gloucester as well, who did visit our camp in the previous part, I never went over it in the description for Chapter 12 due to there not being enough description space for that.
Hanneman is at the camp, and in the previous part, I went over that you don't fail the mission if Hanneman is defeated, you still continue on, but it affects Manuela's dialogue in this chapter.
I show the Chapter 12 battle, and none of the Golden Deer have dialogue with Leonie, it's only Jeralt that has dialogue with her, and I wasn't sure if Linhardt interacts with Hanneman if you have him deployed for this battle, and Lysithea has dialogue when fighting Solon, I tried seeing if Monica had any quotes when she fights Solon, but she doesn't.
As for supports, Leonie can support with Ferdinand, Linhardt, and Jeralt, and she does have a paralogue this chapter, which she shares with Byleth and Jeralt. You might want to work on the Brigand or Armored Knight class for Leonie, as her paralogue does have some Cavaliers, but you can equip her with a Horseslayer to have her deal bonus damage against them.
This video took a long time to record, as I wanted to show the differences in the Chapter 12 battle if you deploy certain units, going over the War Map Battles, first one is Eliminate the Remaining Bandits, recommended weapon types are Sword, Lance, and Tome, and you receive a Devil Axe for the S Rank reward, a very powerful weapon, but it has less durability than usual. Then we go through some dialogue, and Caspar explains about his experience with Fort Merceus.
The next battle in this video is Finish Off Those Who Slither in the Dark, not a name you would give a regular battle, it sounds like what you would see for a final battle, recommended weapon types are Axe, Bow, and Gauntlets, and the S Rank reward is a Brave Bow. This one has some good Survey Spots, including three Master Seals, and a cave which leads to a battle.
Next is Defend the Checkpoint, which is a fog of war map, you will want to bring Sword, Tome, and Gauntlets, and Odesse appears as the boss of this battle, as if we didn't already see him in a paralogue in the previous chapter.
