FireFall Beta-character customization and early gameplay
1Taking a small break from the MoP beta (partially due to a really poor performing week) and my current FPS addiction (Blacklight Retribution), I managed to get an invite into the Firefall beta. A fellow Curse admin was able to spot me a key. After one night of failed downloads and installs, I finally got in.
This game so far seems to be kinda like a mishmosh of things from Bounty Hounds, Borderlands, Starship Troopers, Dune, Tribes and standard MMORPGs. At the start, I go through character customization and the first quest of the game. After that, I get into the action with my assault class getup. I go out of town, shoot some stuff and even die. A big part of the early deaths I had was from not knowing certain creatures put puddles of acid on the ground. I also show the assault class special ability and some of the customization/settings available from the menu.
I initially started off using the underpowered gun that is a back up for most of the classes. I eventually found my way over to the proper assault gun (around 11:15). I am quite a bit better at the game since this video was filmed and flushed out the assault class as a primary and have leveled the dreadnaught one a bit too. I have yet to touch medic, recon or engineer. I'll be trying those soon.
