This is the first video of a series I plan to make on Firewatch tackling the several themes and ideas in this game starting off with our good ol’ friend Pessimism! Firewatch is a game that uses several aspects such as characters, plot, and even game mechanics to encourage the player to eventually see a more pessimistic view on life in order to prepare them for the inevitable disappointment. The game teaches us that when you expect the worst from life, very rarely, then, can it hurt you.
