The Rise of Skywalker Failed on a Fundamental Level.
I wish it wasn’t true. But it is. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is a terrible, dysfunctional, misguided project that suffered from problems on such a fundamental level of filmmaking: its writing. The pacing was horrendously inconsistent, the characters were given no opportunity for growth, there were no consequences in this film, and the hamfisted reveal of Rey’s identity was simply unacceptable. 4.5/ 10 for the film. 5/10 for the trilogy.
