First Impressions On: Halo 2: Anniversary

On this episode of First Impressions, I return to the much shinier stomping boots of the Master Chief in this remake of his second intergalactic super-weapon-busting outing. Unlike the first Halo Anniversary, which was made (and rather bungled) by 343 Industries, H2 Anniversary was made by Saber Interactive (with shiny new CG cutscenes from Blur Studio). As such, the in-game visual style remains much closer to the original. We begin the game attending an award ceremony aboard one of Earth's orbital Magnetic Accelerator Cannons. It turns out to be a rather convenient place to be when a Covenant fleet suddenly shows up, heading straight for Earth. We've just gotta clear out all the aliens boarding Cairo Station, then ride the bomb they were going to use to destroy it into a nearby Covenant ship. Then, it's just a glide and ride down to the surface to fight off the ground forces that made it through.
