Here we are, arriving in Hell with nothing more than a pistol and ineffectual shotgun; not even a torch to help us.

It was nice to get away form the UAC base, since the Mars environments were getting a bit stale; the original DOOM arguably had more variety, even if, looking back, the levels look very plain by modern WAD standards.

I will say that, looking back at this, Hell is a bit to neat and orthogonal for my liking; whoever did the paving, for example, did too good of a job - the slabs and the pointing look excellent. Some bits of Hell just don't seem chaotic and demonic.

Some epic platforming sessions obviously necessitated quicksaving and quickloading, for which I have no regrets. I'll never be a no-save player of DOOM, even if I do attempt some first-playthroughs on Ultra-Violence or equivalent at some point in the future *cough* foreboding *cough*
