Five of the Best Mega Drive Games for Touchscreen Emulator / Best Sega Genesis Games on Sega Forever
Which Sega Mega Drive games work best on an iPhone or Android phone? What are the most suitable games for a smart phone on Sega Forever?
Sega Forever is here! If you're looking for what Sega Mega Drive games work best on a phone, then hopefully this will help you find the best games on Sega Forever. I've played a lot of Sega Mega Drive games on my android phone and tablet, to see which Mega Drive / Genesis games work best on a touch screen Genesis emulator.
Sonic Spinball kicks off our list of emulator Sega games on phone emulators. It’s a great Sega Mega Drive game to play for a few minutes at a time. Sonic games are challenging even with a controller but Spinball is wicked on your phone touch screen. It can get frustrating if you keep hitting the wrong warp over and over, but on a good day you can breeze this whole Genesis game on a lunchbreak on your smartphone.
If you’re after a Sega Genesis platformer on your smartphone, McDonalds Treasure Land Adventure is a cracking little Mega Drive game. It’s developed by Treasure so it’s not a game for babies, Treasure Land Adventure has probably the best music of any Mega Drive game and it’s as fun to play on a touchscreen phone emulator as is it easy to develop type 2 diabetes from poor dietary decisions.
TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist makes the list of Sega Mega Drive games on a touchscreen. There’s loads of beat ‘em ups on the Mega Drive / Genesis and tbh Sega probably hosted the best ones. It was between Golden Axe 2 and this, but I just love those Heroes in a Halfshell.
Thunder Force III is the easiest of the Thunder Force Genesis games and is a rock-solid scrolling shmup, something the Mega Drive is brilliant for. Thunder Force 3 isn’t a breeze to play on a smart phone touch screen, Trouble Shooter is another great example of a scrolling shmup which isn’t too hard to play on a touchscreen emulator device, but Thunder Force 3 is a must-play Mega Drive game so give it a go on your tablet or android phone.
One genre of game that works perfectly on the emulator touch screen is the turn-based RPG. And there’s plenty to choose from. Sword Of Vermilion, Shining Force, Landstalker. All brilliant, but Phantasy Star IV takes the absolute top spot. Not only is it one of the best Mega Drive games ever, it’s still one of the best RPGs of all time and it’s just amazing to play on your emulator tablet touchscreen.
An honourable mention to Mickey Mouse I reckon. Both Castle of and World of Illusion are easy to pick up and are some of the best looking games on the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive. They’re still fun to play, quick to get through and both work well emulated on a touch screen like Sega Forever. Out of a sense of irony, Mickey's Ultimate Challenge is probably the easiest Mega Drive game I've ever played. It’s basically a collection of minigames, wrapped up in a little story. Perfect phone game for when you’re sitting on the throne.
So there we have it. Five games to look out for on Sega Forever. Five Sega Mega Drive / Genesis games that will work well emulated on your phone. Five Mega Drive games that will emulate and play well on a smartphone touch screen.
