In this video I show you how to fix Fortnite lag, ping, and packet loss issues. and high ping. Its common to experience lag or packet loss due to network connection issues. However, there are a few solutions that will fix lag issues in Fortnite and lower ping.

One of the easiest solutions for lag and high ping in Fortnite is to flush your DNS and perform a Winsock reset. This will remove cache information and clean configuration fixing network issues that could be causing lag in Fortnite. Once done you will need to restart your PC.

Another solution for Fortnite lag and high ping is to use a custom DNS. You can connect to a custom DNS through the network and internet settings on your computer. While not always the case, it is possible to get a better connection on Fortnite when connected to a custom DNS server.

The simplest solution is to restart your modem or router. When done correctly, restarting your internet will correct a lot of common issues potentially fixing Fortnite lag issues.

Although it's not always possible, it's best to connect your PC to the internet using an ethernet cable. This will ensure you are getting the best ping and latency in Fortnite while giving you a stable connection. In cases where this isn't possible, you will want to make sure you're connected to the best WiFi channel for you. Some modems or routers will output 2 separate WiFi channels, a 5G and 2.4G option. In most cases the 5G connection will give the best speeds and fix ping issues. However, if you are a long distance from your modem or router then it's possible that the 2.4G option will be the better option.

You will also want to ensure you are connecting to the right Fortnite servers. If you are connecting to a different region then your ping is naturally going to be higher. By connecting to the correct region you will have less lag in Fortnite and better latency. It's possible that you have accidentally changed which region you're using for matchmaking, or forgot you changed it.

While unlikely, another possible fix for Fortnite lag and packet loss is limiting the number of devices connected to your internet. By limiting the amount of devices using your internet you are freeing up bandwidth for Fortnite.
