Flashgal (or Flash Gal) is a 1985 side-scrolling action game developed and published by Sega, and distributed in the U.S. by Romstar. In the game, you play as "Flash Gal", a hyperactive crime fighting woman who just can't stand still as she constantly thwarts the ambitions of an evil mobster through the game's eleven sections/stages before the game begins to loop back to previous sections. It is most notable for its character design of the heroine, who seemed like an early concept for Streets of Rage's "Blaze" (with some pieces suggesting that some things were inspired by Flashgal and referenced in SoR) and, more importantly, looked like "Wonder Woman", to the point where the game was nicknamed "Wonder Woman Arcade". The game's marque makes this more apparent.

It is a simple game in its entirety, but features quite a bit of variety for its time and some random enemies (monkeys that drop missiles, ostrich/emu type creatures, psychic-powered mobster, etc.). In the game, you can punch, kick, jump, and on some levels, stab with a blade, shoot enemies with a gun, or ride different vehicles. As you progress, you slowly lose power. To survive, you must avoid assailants and kill them to restore your power. The game is reasonably balanced until section eight (water ski level), where the game just becomes unfairly cheap. The game alludes to "Miki", "Harada" , and "Kobayashi". This could be in reference to "Miki Morimoto" and "Tomoki Harada" (no idea who "Kobayashi" is in reference to), but there isn't enough info out there to decide.
