I've mentioned before that I love the concept of Souls style games, but often get frustrated at the execution.

Flintlock (I'm not using the entire title every time) in many ways feels like a Souls game, but then also doesn't.

I appreciate how it doesn't have a stamina bar, allowing me to dodge more often and properly learn the combat system.

I also like how it feels more like an exploratory adventure, with places to go and a map to explore, whereas many Souls-lites are filles with linear areas or places that are clearly beyond your reach as a gamer.

Will I keep playing it? That's yet to be decided, and I certainly need to improve my parrying skills in order to find real success. But who knows, maybe it'll be one of the rare few Souls-lites that I manage to really dig into.
