Here's the making of my prototype for the Ludum Dare game-making challenge this weekend, on the theme of "Beneath the Surface". I was interested in the squishy gravity physics you get around the water level if you're heavier than air but lighter than water, and how tools normally used to lift you into the air could also pull you under the waves. Of these, a grappling hook seemed like the coolest, and as it happened I'd already made one in Unity. So I tweaked it a little to work underwater too, and this video shows how that mod evolved into its own game, about maintaining high velocities through fluid movement under and above the water.
