This is wonderfully clever: in a retro section designed to look like the sprite-based game Streets of Rage, you're still playing as your highly customised character from the main game. Making sprite equivalents for every proportion and colour of every bit of clothing would be nigh impossible, so I guess it's actually rendering my 3D model at a low resolution, having it play some intentionally jerky animations, and layering that on top of actual sprites!
