So I ran a little FMV adventure game poll on my discord and social media sites. Turns out you all want to see me take on a Tex Murphy game so here we are. Under a Killing Moon is the 3rd game in the Tex Murphy series created by Chris Jones. He also portrays the character in all the titles. While the 2nd game, Martian Memorandum, used digitized actors and bits of FMV, Under a Killing Moon is jam pack with it and would become the series main defining trait.

We start with Tex who is down on his luck after breaking up with his wife and out of work. While talking with an old acquaintance he decides its time to get back into the detective business. Luckily he discovers that the pawn shop across the street has been robbed and so we're on the case. While all this is happening, it seems like there are greater forces at work behind the scenes plotting something much more sinister. But I spent this session just on Day 1 cause I got stuck not looking at 1 dialogue choice whoops.

The world of Tex Murphy is both detective noir and sci fi as it takes place in the future of 2042 after a great World War 3. The slums are San Francisco are radiated which cause people to become mutated. Tex is one of a few humans that live in the slums as he seems to be immune to the radiation. Sadly it seems there's a lot of social tension between "the norms" and mutants. The world of Tex Murphy seems both sci fi and comedic while being still being grounded and real.
