FMV February - Thunder in Paradise w/ Izve_Mashina (+ other games)
1Here comes a new challenger! Yes, I am joined on the ship once again by good friend Izve_Mashina as we tear into the DOS port of one of CD-i's most infamous FMV games, Thunder in Paradise starring Terry Hogan. Thunder in Paradise started as a direct to video film and then managed to get tv show that lasted all of 1 season.
The concept is very similar to Knight Rider or Airwolf mixed with Baywatch. Hulk Hogan as "Hurricane" Spencer along side his sidekick "Bru" have a future speed boat named "Thunder" that they use for fighting criminals that have invaded the Disney World Resorts. For some reason lots of weird sci-fi shit happens.
After we play through that, we take a pitstop over in DOS to try out MicroLeague Wrestling. While barely a game and definitely not FMV, MicroLeague Wrestling is a command based wrestling match where each floppy gives you a certain wrestler. I only had access to Hogan vs DiBiase but I believe Macho King Randy Savage is also in the game?
After that we journey on over to the PC-FX to look at Zen-Nihon Joshi Pro Wrestling: Queen of Queens, an all female FMV wrestling game very similar to anime cutscene fighters like those Yu Yu Hakusho ones on SNES. Featuring big names like Aja Kong, Akira Hokuto, Kyoko Inoue, and many more. Disc 2 even features fictional wrestlers with cool attack animations. One day I would love to come back to this one after learning how to play it.
Also at the end I look at Battle Heat and Team Innocent for PC-FX cause... I don't know.
