FoEhints: Guld Battlegrounds Attack Move in Forge of Empires
I was asked to demonstrate how smaller or less active guilds can have fun and success in guild battlegrounds. Today I'll show you two typical scenarios as examples.
Scenario 1 simply deals with the sectors directly in front of the base sector. The special thing about this base sector is that it reduces the chance of attrition by 80% if a fortified guild encampment has been set up in it. This is a one-time investment of a few goods, from which the guild then benefits for two weeks. This sector cannot be lost.
With this tailwind, you can recapture the sectors in front of the base sector every day, even against overpowering opponents. This could only be prevented if two strong opponents were to collude to take the sectors in turn. Otherwise, you can fight a lot of battles and enjoy receiving an average of 45 diamonds for every 100 battles won - in addition to the many other rewards such as goods, Forge points, etc.
At the top of the screen you can see how many Forge points I got when I conquered this sector. For this reason alone, it's worth doing lots of battles in the guild battlegrounds every day. Thanks to the bonus from the base sector, I can easily do 300 battles a day. Incidentally, this also helps you to climb up the rankings, because every battle gives you ranking points. There is currently nothing more rewarding in the game than the many battles in the guild battlegrounds.
The second scenario I have today is a typical attacking move that works well in the Platinum League, but would tend to fail in the Diamond League due to the much more active opponents there.
The situation can be clearly seen in the picture. Green has previously taken two of our sectors and spent so much effort that they didn't manage to take the middle sector as well. If we don't intervene, it's only a matter of time before an opposing player comes online to complete this sector. This must be prevented.
First, I place a Fortified Guild Command Post in the threatened sector. The fortified guild command post has the following effects
- 60% chance of not increasing attrition in the neighboring sector
- 30% more advance points for the province with this tower
- Doubles the victory points generated
I need the extra advance points in case an opponent comes online after all. This buys me time, because as I'm the only player in our guild online at the moment, my attack will take 15 minutes. It would be a shame to fail just before the finish line.
As I don't want to wait 3 hours, I use 125 diamonds to finish the build immediately. Since I get an average of 45 diamonds from every 100 battles in the guild battlegrounds, the guild battlegrounds are practically self-financing.
Then I start my attacks. It's easy to manage 169 battles on your own thanks to the towers, but of course it takes time.
As you can see, I still had to replace the injured units manually. With the latest update, this is now more convenient and reduces the time required considerably.
Once again, I recommend taking a look at the increasing number of Forge points. Even in less active or small guilds, active players can get a lot of advantages from guild battlegrounds. I therefore recommend everyone to get involved here if time permits.
With the conquest of the neighboring sector, the attacks on our middle sector become obsolete. Everything is saved.
