I buy that shit before I even know the price

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is beginning to resemble a good run! This category is now just over 25 minutes faster than the No File Manip WR, and just shy of 22 minutes faster than the previous 56:06 WR I set late last year. There's a decently long story as to how this category was nearly chopped in half, but it's easier to explain what's happening in the run.

The file begins on Great Clock 4 due to a file manipulation done prior to the run. On a completed save file, we have the ability to start in Challenge Mode from the Extras menu at any point. When we select it in the black screen before loading any planet (or in this case, GC sector) the new save file begins, but once the opening cutscene is done it puts us wherever we were travelling to initially. This means the fresh NG+ file begins away from Great Clock 1 - and allows for some interesting sequence breaks. We're allowed to just save and load new run files on Great Clock 4 to spare 3 minutes of cutscenes every time we want to reset.

When we start on Great Clock 4 we're able to select any Great Clock section preceding it - in this case we go to Great Clock 2 immediately, complete it, and head to Molonoth for the hoverboots.

Once we do that, we do Great Clock 1 Warp through an abuse on the main menu. Exiting the game keeps your own file in memory for a little bit - while on the main menu, it's finishing up saving our game. When this is happening, the PS3's own save menu cannot be pulled up - and additionally the game is trying to load the opening cutscene and Great Clock 1 in the background in case the player wants to start a new file. If we're quick enough with the menuing, we will select a new game before we can access the PS3 save menu to save our fresh file like normal. The game 'failsafes' by trying to push the player into Great Clock 1 immediately, but with our file that's still saving. Unfortunately, we're still on the first visit of Great Clock 1, and we need to fully complete it in order to access the teleporter pad it has.

Emphasis on fully complete - you also need to complete the first Ratchet section in order to unlock the teleporter pad. Normally Ratchet would not have the hoverboots here, allowing for some unique routing. For whatever reason, until you hit the final trigger of Zolar, warping again into Great Clock 1 will just put you into a half-completed version of it. Once we're out of Zolar, we can do another warp into Great Clock 1 and teleport back to Great Clock 4.

Completing Great Clock 4 puts us into Bernilius and therefore we can head straight into Nefarious Space Station. Having the hoverboots means we can perform ̶I̶c̶y̶ ̶P̶e̶a̶k̶ ̶S̶k̶i̶p̶ Vapedia Skip and complete the game without softlocking.

This is a pretty unique category considering it treads ground that Any% and NG+ No File Manip does not - that being the two extra Great Clock sections and Hoverboot Zolar. It's certainly the most unique category in the entire Future series, and I hope we can expand our knowledge with this game even further in 2019.
