I made a video a couple of weeks ago in which I pointed out an issue with Cross Platform Play on the Xbox. This was a weird situation, given the Xbox was the platform pushing Cross Play. The issue was that some accounts (usually child accounts) simply couldn't access Epic Games Friends and so were unable to engage in Cross Platform Play at all.

Well, it's now been fixed, so thank you MS and Epic for listening, and for sorting it out.
