The Diablo Debacle and the Problem with Games Journalism
There is a problem with games journalism which I think many gamers have been aware of for some time. This was brought front and centre last week, when Blizzard announced Diablo Immortal for mobile devices. Gamers weren't very happy about the announcement, but instead of trying to look into the reasons for this, the gaming press (on the whole) decided to circle the wagons and start firing off attacks at those who criticised the announcement.
In this video, I talk about why that was a mistake and why I think it tells us a great deal about the state of gaming journalism and the disconnect between fans, the industry and the gaming press.
Let me know what you think in the comments.
