True to its old school RPG roots, Frayed Knights's combat system wastes little time before throwing in various buffs, status ailments and other interesting factors to make the experience more complex and engaging. To the game's credit, even early in the game I've found very little use for the "just press Attack over and over again until it dies" strategy which works so embarrassingly well in many other turn-based RPGs.
