Many of you asked where do i buy most of the transformers that i used for the video. As shown in the video all power transformers can be found in the power supply unit of electronic and electrical appliance. Such Airconditioner, Television, Refrigerator, Computers, iPhone and android chargers, laptop power supply, etc. I got them all for free without a cost
The function of transformers simply to step up or step down the voltage to get more current or voltage. In high powered appliances like Television, Refrigerators, Air Conditioners usually to step to get high voltage.
Otherwise small devices like iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, iPad, Huawei Phone, Xiaomi smart phones device only require 5 volt to charge. Therefore a transformer are used in the charger adapter to step down voltage from 220 volt or 12 volt battery to 5 volt so it can charge the phone safely.
RF transformers are used to filter out noise in the RF line transmission and it can be found in network modem, switches, routers, servers, satelite, walkie-talkie etc. They are delicately build to certain specification and precise inductance value to be used in the Radio Frequency equipment
Salvaged transformers in electronic devices are more quality than you buy on eBay because they passed the industry standard QC test. Unlike the one sold cheap on eBay, AlieXpress, DHgate, Banggood - those are reject components which failed the industry QC test so they can sell it cheaper online. Not to mention there are no standard measure of its inductance value.
So you should rather salvaged componets for your DIY homemade electronic project rather than buy from China. Because it is very high quality original especially the RF transformers - they are precisely measured in their inductance for the purpose to match certain frequency requirement set for the devices.
